New York Trout fishing at its finest...

The park has a rich history. Back in the forties, it was a golf course where legends from that time, like Jack Benny and Bob Hope played golf while vacationing in the Catskills. The old store in the front was a tea house for those playing the course. One can only speculate who might have hung out in there while visiting the Catskills. Our barn is also a historic building where the railroad stopped to pick or offload hay and other items in the mid-1800's and early 1900's. Milton Berle used to perform when he was a young man right in Arkville in the building that now houses the Cafe and Craft distillery. The big bands of the era performed in that building as well. They have won several prizes for their spirits.

Today there are a lovely group of both retired folks and seasonal nature lovers who enjoy a peaceful life here in the mountains. There are a few long-time area residents and others are originally from lower New York State and New Jersey who love the area and want to vacation here.

About half of the 40-acre on-site organic farm is leased to an organic dairy farmer. The beautiful riverside areas are great for roaming, nature watching, and fishing. Take the kids fishing when they come up for a visit! And take 'em on a golf cart ride around property as well! There's plenty for them to do here in the area. A century-old barn and produce store still proudly stands on site, linking the present property to its enduring agricultural heritage.

Summer nights are cool and crisp; you can leave your air-conditioner back in the city. Fall is gorgeous and invigorating, and winter brings skiing (both cross country and downhill, only ten miles away) and other winter time activities. It's also a great place for strolling, hiking, golfing, fishing.

There is a golf course right next door as well and there are a few others in the area.
Just a short walk/golf cart ride along our farm path and you're there.

In Town

Only a mile away from our private little village is our great little town of Margaretville where you can get an ice cream soda, eat out, or go to the supermarket. The village of Delhi is a half an hour away with many other stores and restaurants. There's antiquing and other shops all around the area. And the well-reputed Margaretville Hospital is right down the road, almost within walking distance of our village.
